Scott AFB Diversity Day

Meadows and Forsha were among the Webster representatives for Scott Air Force Base’s annual Diversity Day.

Webster University again participated in the annual Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Diversity Day base picnic June 27, 2014. Diversity Day at Scott AFB highlights history and heritage through lenses like women’s history and Asian Pacific Islander, African American, Native American, Hispanic American and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual perspectives.

Jim Meadows of Webster’s Office of Military Affairs and Webster Scott AFB campus director Stephen Forsha attended, as did Webster Scott AFB campus representatives Cheryl Kennedy and Cynthia Platt.

This is one of the most important outreach events on the military installation, Kennedy said. The Education Center is only invited to select base events, so “we go all out with outreach” when the opportunity is there, she said. Not only does the Scott AFB Webster University team man an information booth, each team member rotates to “meet and greet” those who are walking around the picnic area.
