High school students from across the area were on Webster University’s campus during the week of June 23 attending two different School of Communications camps: Music Recording Camp and Sci-Fi Media Production Camp.

Audio Aesthetics & Technology Department chair Barry Hufker led the Music Recording Camp, where campers were able to get into a professional-grade recording student to learn microphone techniques, multitrack recorder operation and mixing skills and are recording music for local band The Lonesome Threesome.

In the Sci-Fi Media Production camp, campers worked with professors  Joe Schuster, Chris Sagovac and Aaron Aubuchon to write a script, learn stop-motion animation and shoot video to create their own original science fiction film. Each student will get a DVD of the finished film, and there will be a free screening of it on Tuesday, July 1, at 7 p.m. in the Winifred Moore Auditorium.
