Winckel Named SLIAC/d3baseball Player of the Week

Webster’s Joe Winckel batted .667 on the week, earning him Player of the Week honors for April 21-27.

Joe Winckel, a senior designated hitter for the Webster University baseball team, has been named by the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and d3baseball.com Player of the Week for April 21-27. Winckel led the Gorlok offensive attack as the team went 4-0 on the week, averaging 7.3 runs per game in four games, while clinching their eighth consecutive SLIAC regular season title.

Winckel had a hit in all four games including three multi-hit games. His top performance was a 5-5 game, driving in four runs in a 10-3 win over Eureka. On the week Winckel hit .667, going 10-for-15 from the plate, with three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, and three runs scored. He had a 1.267 slugging percent for the week.
