Open House for New Vienna Student Housing Location

Webster Vienna celebrated the opening of its new student dorms, OeJAB Webster Residence Am Augarten on Thursday, April 24, 2014. This housewarming party was open to all students, faculty, administration and alumni.

An open house celebrating Webster University Vienna’s residence halls was held on April 24, and welcomed Webster students, faculty, administration and alumni.

Webster Vienna celebrated the opening of its new student dorms, ӦJAB Webster Residence am Augarten with an open house for students, faculty, administration and alumni on April 24. Upon arrival, guests were encouraged to “check In” via Facebook to ӦJAB Webster Residence am Augarten and pose with the Gorlok.

Also in attendance were reconstruction project representatives from management company KS Ingenieure, and the building’s owners. Special guest Mag. Michael Neischl, Bezirksgruppenobmann from the Wirtschaftsbund Wien Leopoldstadt (2nd District Businessmen’s Association), welcomed Webster University to Vienna’s second district with many bright wishes for a future cooperation between Webster University and Leopoldstadt.

The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent celebrating, touring the building and supporting Webster Vienna’s Easter Charity Drive. The charity event was organized by Webster University’s scholarship students to raise money for the Good Angel charity organization, a Slovakian nonprofit charity dedicated to helping families of children who suffer from severe diseases such as cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis or Down’s syndrome. The event was complemented by a Tex Mex buffet and a raffle drawing with prizes donated by Mag. Neischl.

About the ÖJAB Webster Residence Am Augarten

The Webster Residence Am Augarten is an 80-bed facility that combines all the newest amenities with the charm of vintage Viennese architectural style, Webster’s new dormitory provides students with superior comfort, practical convenience, and an engaging social atmosphere.

The Residence is located at Heinestrasse 15 in Vienna’s second district, a 10-minute walk to the university’s new campus at the Palais Wenkheim, and a five-minute walk to the famous Prater and Augarten parks. The city center is a mere two subway stations away, although it is also easily reached on foot. Both the Residence Assistant and the Housing Coordinator, who is stationed at the reception desk, live on the premises, and are available to help students manage and enjoy their dormitory lives as part of the Webster community.
