DJ Kaiser, School of Education assistant professor and coordinator of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), will deliver a public presentation on his recent experience visiting Harbin, China. The presentation, ‚ÄúProviding Instructional Feedback in a Global Setting: English Education in China,” will take place on Wednesday, April 16, at 4 p.m. in the Library Conference Room.

Kaiser will focus on the topics of being culturally sensitive when providing professional advice and feedback on methods for teaching the English language, and the unexpected aspects of his trip to Harbin.

Kaiser traveled to Harbin, China, in March to observe classes and to assess the English skills of potential candidates for a student exchange between Harbin University and Webster University. His trip quickly turned into a week of interaction with other teachers: delivering a faculty lecture, providing one-on-one feedback to faculty, and leading a seminar on teaching English at a middle school.
