Olga Rosa Gonzalez Martin from University of Havana will teach Cuban Film and Media as a visiting professor.

The School of Communications is pleased to announce that Olga Rosa González Martín from the University of Havana will be a visiting film scholar during the Spring 2 term. While she is at Webster University’s home campus, students will have the unique opportunity to get an inside perspective on Cuban film and media in a course she will be teaching, “Topics in Film Studies: Cuban Film and Media Today.”

The course will be taught in English while the films screened will be in Spanish with English subtitles.

González Martin will be at Webster as part of the MOU with Cuba’s University of Havana, a partnership which opens doors to pursue further faculty exchange and collaborations in areas such as health, the arts and Spanish language.

“Dr. González Martin will be a wonderful addition to the SOC faculty,” said Kit Jenkins, associate dean. “Her visit to Webster is a one-time opportunity for our students to meet and work with a scholar and media expert from a culture very different from our own. It’s a perfect international collaboration.”
