Snapshots: Students Record Abbey Road Warriors ‘Rooftop’ Concert

| January 30, 2014

Abbey Road Warriors, a local Beatles tribute group, played from the 4th floor of the Emerson Library to the crowd gathered on the quad on Thursday, Jan. 30. The noontime concert commemorated the Beatles’ 45th anniversary of their final live performance and 50th anniversary of their arrival in the U.S.

The School of Communications and the Department of Audio Aesthetics and Technology hosted a live music concert on Jan. 30 to commemorate two major milestone anniversaries of the legendary rock group, The Beatles: the 45th anniversary of their final live performance as a group – a rooftop concert on the roof of their Saville Row recording studio – and the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ arrival in the U.S.

Department of Audio Aesthetics and Technology students worked to capture a live sound recording.

The Abbey Road Warriors, a local Beatles tribute group, performed a noontime concert from Webster University’s Emerson Library 4th floor outdoor patio — Webster’s version of “the rooftop.”

Audio students did a live sound recording of the event and video production students taped the event. Despite the cold temperatures, the performance was clearly a hit with a crowd of more than 100 gathered in the quad, as well as students passing by on their way to class.

Webster video production students from the Electronic and Photographic Media Department worked to photograph and video the Abbey Road Warriors performance.
