Webster Named a Top Military-Friendly School by Military Advanced Education

| December 19, 2013

Webster University was named in the 2014 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities by Military Advanced Education. This is the seventh time in a row that Webster was named to the list.

Webster is one of the largest providers of graduate-level military education in the United States, with classrooms and offices on 39 military installations in 20 states and the District of Columbia.

The magazine reviewed numerous attributes for inclusion in the guide, including the flexibility of online learning options, extent of transfer credits accepted by degree level, on-campus ROTC, Service member Opportunity Colleges (SOC) participation, on-campus active duty/veteran assistance, the support provided to the families of service members, faculty trained in veteran reintegration issues, presence on military installations, and  full-time counselors trained in veteran-specific mental health concerns.

The University serves more than 7,700 students with military connections. This year, Webster established an Office of Military Affairs (OMA), which serves military-connected students across the University network, under the leadership of retired Brig. Gen. Mike Callan, USAF associate vice president for Military and Governmental Programs.
