Admissions & Study Abroad Represent Webster at NAFSA Conference

Webster colleagues from Admissions and the Study Abroad Office braved snowy conditions to participate in the annual NAFSA Association of International Educators Region IV Conference held the week of Nov. 4 in Rapid City, S.D. NAFSA Region IV is one of NAFSA’s 11 geographic regions and includes Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Webster’s international collaboration was well showcased at the conference. University representatives included: Wence P’Oryem, associate director, International Services, Office of Admission; Janka Ribando, international coordinator, Office of Admission; Kimberly Mantia-Ochoa, study abroad advisor, Office of Study Abroad; and Kate Brooks, department associate, Office of Study Abroad.

Kate Brooks received a Region IV travel grant to attend the conference. P’Oryem, Ribando, Mantia-Ochoa and Brooks attended sessions on education abroad and international student service topics including: Comprehensive Web Presence for International students, Counseling Triad in International Student Adviser Training, Student Disciplinary Issues in the Abroad Process, and Marketing Your Study Abroad Experience.
