Last month Webster University celebrated the opening of a new campus location serving the Charleston, S.C., metropolitan area.

Webster has offered academic programs in the area since the 1970s, and the new, updated location is a response to demand and population trends in this growing area. Recent U.S. Census figures show the Charleston metropolitan area was the 12th-fastest-growing metropolitan area in the nation.

Serving South Carolina

Webster University has provided high-quality graduate education to South Carolina since the mid-1970s, opening the Charleston Metropolitan campus at its original location, and the Joint Base Charleston campus location.

The rapid growth of these programs soon led to the creation of campus locations in Beaufort, Columbia, Fort Jackson, Greenville and Myrtle Beach.

In 2003, the University reaffirmed its commitment to serving the region’s higher education needs with the opening of the Shaw Air Force Base campus location.
