Oct. 22 Test of Webster Alerts System

| October 16, 2013

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Information Technology and Public Safety will test Webster Alerts, the campus emergency alerts system, to comply with safety reporting standards of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) and with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

During the test, anyone who has signed up to receive text and/or email alerts from the Webster Groves Emergency group will receive a test message. The test message will be sent to the Webster Groves Emergency Group at approximately 10 a.m. that day.

You can help ensure a successful test. Prior to the test, check your Webster Alerts account. Log in at www.webster.edu/technology/services/webster-alerts.html. Verify that your phone number and email address are up to date and validated within the system and that you are subscribed to the appropriate groups. Also, remind students you might work with about the upcoming test.

After the test, take a few moments to fill out the feedback survey, located at www.webster.edu/technology/alertsurvey.html. If you need assistance with your Webster Alerts account, please visit webster.edu/technology/services/webster-alerts/questions.html or call the Webster IT Service Desk on campus at ext. 5995, locally at 314-246-5995, or toll free at 1-866-435-7270.
