Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Canned Food Drive Oct. 8

| October 7, 2013

Webster University and other members of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) are supporting their local community food shelters through a conference-wide canned-food drive competition. The school that collects the most canned goods during each season will earn recognition by the SLIAC with the year’s overall leader receiving a traveling trophy.

Bring at least two cans of food for the food drive and cheer on the Gorlok volleyballers Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. in Grant Gym

Each institution, led by members of its Student-Athlete Advisory Council, is holding five canned-food drives throughout the 2013-14 school year with all collections going to local food shelters. Webster is conducting five food drives this year: two in the fall, one in the winter, and two in the spring.

Next Collection: Oct. 8

Webster’s fall collection will take place Tuesday, Oct. 8, 6 p.m., at the volleyball match versus Fontbonne University in Grant Gym. Those who bring at least two cans to the volleyball match will receive a free bag of popcorn. Cash donations also will be accepted during these events.
