Webster’s campus in Vienna turned its holiday event into a fundraiser for textbooks at a primary school in Kenya.

Last December, the Webster University Vienna campus community held its annual Holiday Punch event in the form of a fundraiser for the Ibubi Primary School in western Kenya. Donations were collected for hot punch, cookies and nuts to celebrate the holidays.

The entire donation went towards purchasing textbooks and school supplies for Ibubi students. With the help of generous students and staff, and a healthy dose of holiday cheer, they raised 400 Euros for the students.

Suffice to say, the textbooks were well received.

Ibubi head teacher Joshua Maboko Echoka sent photos of the results, via Webster Vienna adjunct faculty member Giles Pope. The Vienna campus will again collect donations at this year’s Holiday Punch event to continue supporting the students of Ibubi Primary School.
