Get Ready! September Marks National Preparedness Month

| September 4, 2013
As the old adage goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Be prepared!

September is National Preparedness Month, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The program encourages national, regional, local, public and private organizations to review and communicate emergency preparedness efforts.

Webster University’s Department of Public Safety encourages all faculty, staff and students to log into Connections and view the following videos online:

  • Campus Safety 101 – General campus safety awareness
  • Shots Fired on Campus – Active shooter awareness/survival
  • Safe Passage – Traveling abroad safety
  • Silent Storm – Intimate partner violence awareness
  • FlashPoint – Workplace violence prevention

Become familiar with the University’s emergency procedures by viewing the links on your Connections page or by visiting the Public Safety website.

You may also sign up for notifications on campus emergencies and closures via text and/or email through theĀ  “Webster Alerts” link on Connections. For questions or more information on getting prepared, contact Scott Patterson at 314-246-8708 or pattersc@webster.edu.
