Fall freshmen, study abroad and transfer students arrived at Webster Geneva last Wednesday to prepare for the kickoff of the 2013-14 academic year.

Following welcome speeches given by Geneva director general Willem Jan Hofmans and academic director Ron Daniel, students began a round of orientation sessions while parents learned about “letting go” and were invited to a Q&A meeting with several directors of staff.

On the more casual front, students participated in “ice breakers” to get to know each other, including an evening of bowling; discovered downtown Geneva along with key landmarks, the Old Town and the public transportation system.

On Friday, students met with their advisors, while on Saturday a trip by train and by boat took students to Montreux and the nearby Château de Chillon, a castle on the shores of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps.
