Webster has been named to the list six consecutive years.

For the sixth year in a row, Webster University is one of the best colleges to work for, according to a new workplace survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education – the most respected publication serving the academic community.

The results, released in The Chronicle’s sixth annual report on “Great Colleges to Work For” in its July 22 issue, are based on a survey of more than 45,000 employees at 300 colleges and universities.

“Recognition as a great place to work results from deep commitments on the part of Webster’s faculty and staff to serve students here in St. Louis and in the 60 cities, eight countries, and four continents that Webster students call home,” said Webster University President Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. “I am proud to work with colleagues who advance the institution’s mission of addressing unmet needs in times that demand the highest quality education for the greatest number of individuals.”

In all, only 97 of the 300 institutions surveyed achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium and large institutions, with Webster included among the large universities with 10,000 or more students. The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
