IT Systems Maintenance Report July 12-14

| July 16, 2013

Phone system upgrades for campuses equipped with Cisco IP phones (Webster Groves, Westport, Winghaven, St. Louis Old Post Office and Fort Gordon, Ga.) are nearly complete. The upgrade of Cisco Unified Personal Communicator instant-messaging software is yet to be completed because it requires installation to individual end-users’ computers.

Although the upgrade was sent remotely, computers that were powered off were unable to receive it. In the coming week, regular users of Cisco Communicator not already using version 8.6.2 will receive an email with a link to download and install the upgrade. Questions may be directed to the IT Service Desk.

Other system maintenance work included upgrades to firewall software that protects Webster systems, upgrades to software that provides wireless network connectivity, and an update of the CX (CARS) Training database with recent Production data. These changes were completed on time and without unexpected interruptions.

Thanks to the IT personnel who worked through the weekend to complete these important system upgrades and to the Webster community for its patience and understanding during any necessary system outages.
