Some highly successful Webster alumni also attended the June 22 event at the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The workshop was conducted by leadership consultant and Webster Thailand faculty member Jonathan J. Blaine, who has been in leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies on three continents over the past two decades.

Webster Thailand business chair Nisha Ray Chaudhuri also joined the workshop’s interactive panel.

“Webster has established itself as a reputed provider of higher education in Nepal,” said Samrat Ray Chaudhuri, director of Marketing and Enrollment Management. “This seminar is a significant step towards building a series of corporate development programs for this region.”

He also noted that the presence of the Nepalese, Thai and American high-level delegates gave a tremendous boost to this initiative.

Currently around 40 Nepalese students are attending Webster Thailand in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Each year about 25-30 students start with Webster University in Thailand, and many take advantage of the Webster network of campuses to transfer to Webster’s home campus in St. Louis after spending a year at the Thai campus. Business, Management, International Relations and Media Communications are the most popular programs.

This workshop was  actively endorsed by the Education Minister of Nepal, His Excellency Madhav Poudel and the Thai Embassy in Kathmandu and the Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, Her Excellency Kanthong Unakul. Both attended the event to speak to the group and present attendance certificates. Representatives from the U.S. Ambassador to Nepal also attended in recognition of the American ties of Webster University Thailand.
