Justin Frederick kicks off the UMR-ACUHO summer business meeting in the Moore Auditorium.

If you notice an abundance of vehicles with out-of-state license plates around the Webster Groves campus this week, as well as visitors sporting gear from colleges other than Webster, there’s a good reason.

The Department of Housing & Residential Life, in collaboration with colleagues from Washington University, is hosting the executive board and committee members of the Upper Midwest Region of the Association of College and University Housing Officer’s (UMR-ACUHO) summer business meeting.

Colleagues from more than 50 colleges and universities, eight Midwestern states and one Canadian province will work on projects concerning issues such as assessment, social justice and professional development, which impact campus housing systems throughout the region.

These meetings are a precursor to the annual UMR-ACUHO conference Webster will co-host with Washington University in mid-October. That conference will bring more than 500 delegates from the region to St. Louis.

Assistant director of Housing and Residential Life Justin Frederick is the conference chairperson. Also playing major roles in coordinating the conference are assistant director Katie Knetzer and community directors Chris Rice and Megan Wetzel.
