May 3: Celebrate Professor Jim Evans

| April 29, 2013

It is with mixed emotions that the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology announces the retirement of Dr. James Evans, professor of Management.

Evans has taught at Webster for 41 years, at multiple campuses.

Evans has served at Webster University for 41 years, inspiring students with his thoughtful style of teaching. He began his work as a professor in the Philosophy Department and later served as the first dean of the College of Arts & Sciences.

In 1985, he moved to the Netherlands to become the director of the Webster campus in Leiden. He has also served as director of the Webster campus in London and as associate vice president for international campuses.

Though the Webster community will miss him, James has earned the opportunity to enjoy more time with his family and grandchildren.

In honor of our friend and colleague, please join us for a May 3 reception to wish him well in his retirement.

    Dear Jim,

I will be retiring at the end of May too, in same time as Bob Spencer – end of an era with many happy memories: 41 years for you, 40 for Bob and 30 for me!

I wish you happy times ahead.

    Best regards,

    Nickie
