E-Waste Recycling Event Collects a Ton of Waste

| April 29, 2013

The University has partnered with Midwest Recycling Center for the e-waste collection event.

Spring cleaning was in full bloom when, quite literally, one ton (2,000 pounds) of electronic waste was collected at the E-Waste Recycling Event on April 25, sponsored by the Sustainability Coalition and Webster Recycling.

The Webster community was encouraged to safely and responsibly dispose of 2,000 pounds of electronic waste at a designated location on the home campus. The University diverted hazardous waste from the landfill and reduced its greenhouse gas emissions of carbon dioxide equivalent by two metric tons.

The next E-Waste Recycling Event will be hosted in early fall.
