Dan Viele Moving on after 15 Years with Webster

Dan Viele, associate vice president for Academic Affairs, has announced that he will be leaving Webster University, effective May 15. He has accepted a position as dean of the School of Adult and Online Education at Maryville University.

Viele has served Webster in a variety of roles since arriving from Silicon Valley in 1998, including directing the Online Learning Center for the past six years. He was instrumental in the development of the University’s online MBA program and distance learning initiatives.

A William T. Kemper Award for Excellence in Teaching winner in 2002, his roles at Webster have also included chair of the Department of Business and professor of Accounting in the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology.
