Colorado Springs Director Elected Secretary of CCME

| March 22, 2013

Senior director of Webster University’s Peterson Air Force campus location, Margaret Reed, was elected secretary of the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) at the organization’s annual symposium in February.

CCME has been an active proponent for the professional development of those serving in the military education community for close to 40 years. Its membership is principally composed of military educators, civilian educators, post-secondary educational institutions and suppliers of quality education products and services.

During her two-year appointment as a member of the executive board of CCME, Reed will be involved with decision-making processes, keep minutes, edit the newsletter, help with elections, and maintain other organization documents.

As part of the election process, Reed presented a short candidate speech outlining the important role institutions supporting and educating the military have in bridging the gap that military Educational Services Officers (ESOs) and the Department of Defense are sometimes forced into by budget constraints. She advocated for strong lines of communication among CCME and NAIMES (National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services) members to keep all informed and connected.
