Dean’s Award for Service Recipients Named for Spring I

Webster University students Brianna Goldstein, Alex Pierce, Henry Coleman and Monica Fogle received the Dean’s Award for Service for 2013 Spring I. The awards were presented at a March 18 luncheon.

Four students were selected to receive the Dean’s Award for Service for Spring I: Henry Coleman, Monica Fogle, Brianna Goldstein, and Alex Pierce.

In order to be considered for the Dean’s Award, one must be nominated by a member of the Webster University community for performing a valuable service. The term “service” encompasses a broad range of contributions made by students, both on- and off-campus. Up to four students are recognized each term with the Dean’s Service Award.

Henry Coleman, a sophomore audio production major from Belleville, Ill., was nominated by Kayla Thompson, president of the Association for African American Collegians (AAAC), for his service as a member of AAAC, organizer of the Monday Noise weekly event, SGA senator, volunteer at Ashland Elementary School and participant in Webster Groves community panels.

Monica Fogle, a sophomore advertising/marketing communications major from St. Louis, was nominated by Justin Barton, coordinator of retention initiatives, for her service supporting the financial literacy campaign and philanthropy work with the DPE Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer fundraising, Breast Cancer Awareness, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Anorexia Nervosa Foundation.

Brianna Goldstein, a junior education major from St. Louis, was nominated by Justin Frederick, assistant director of housing and residential life, for her service as a special needs camp counselor, literacy tutor, volunteer with Operation Food Outreach, team captain for Walk to Defeat ALS, team leader for WebsterWorksWorldwide and volunteer projects with NRHH.

Alex Pierce, a senior education major from St. Louis, was nominated by Chris Rice, community director for housing and residential life, for her service as president of the Residential Housing Association.
