Human Rights ‘Safe Spaces’ Video and Discussion Feb. 27

| February 25, 2013

Webster University students in Lindsey Kingston’s Creating Human Rights Knowledge class invite you to attend an advocacy event, “Safe Spaces,” Wednesday, Feb. 27, noon – 1:30 p.m., in the University Center Sunnen Lounge. Kingston is assistant professor,┬áHistory, Politics & International Relations Department, and associate director of the Institute for Human Rights & Humanitarian Studies.

The event will examine safe spaces (or lack of safe spaces) within our St. Louis community. A short, student-produced video introduction will highlight what Webster students consider to be their own “safe space.” Panelists will then discuss their experiences working on local issues such as affordable and fair housing, homelessness and protection under the law. Refreshments will be provided.
