The system maintenance and upgrades conducted Feb. 15 – 17 by the Information Technology (IT) staff have been successfully completed. The following work was completed on time and without unexpected interruptions in service:
- Applied Symantec Antivirus and Microsoft upgrades on all applicable servers (including Connections)
- Updated the CX (CARS) Training database with recent Production data
- Installed new processes to monitor and detect malicious spamming
IT also upgraded network fiber links on the Webster Groves campus to increase throughput ten-fold and prepare the Webster network for future technologies, like video conferencing. Three of the four 1 GB network fiber links were replaced with 10 GB links. While installing the fourth link, staff encountered minor complications. To ensure timely restoration of network service to the affected area of the Webster Groves campus, IT reinstalled the existing 1 GB fiber link until the underlying issues can be resolved. The fourth 10 GB link will be scheduled for future installation.
Appreciation and thanks is extended to the IT personnel who worked through the weekend to complete these important system upgrades, and to the Webster community for their patience and understanding during any necessary system outages.
