Reggae ‘Rockers’ Part of Strange Brew: Cult Films Feb. 6

The Webster University Film Series presents Rockers Wednesday, Feb. 6, 8 p.m., as part of Strange Brew: Cult Films at Schlafly Bottleworks.

Reggae band drummer Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace decides to try and give his fellow musicians an even break by becoming a record distributor. When local gangsters rip him off and stop his budding music venture cold, his fellow musicians decide to rob the robbers. Practically everyone in this film, beginning with its star, was a well-known reggae musician in Jamaica.  The film features music from The Heptones, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Gregory Issacs, Burning Spear and more.

Rockers is presented in the lively atmosphere of Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood, Mo.  Admission is $5 and free to Webster University students with valid ID.
