Webster University President Beth Stroble and Provost Julian Schuster welcomed Suzanne Sitherwood, president and chief executive officer of The Laclede Group, Inc. to Webster’s home campus on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
A reception was followed by Sitherwood’s talk, “The Path Forward: The Future of Natural Gas,” as part of the Webster University Presents: Contemporary Conversations for a Connected World series.
Sitherwood said visiting Webster:
“…is a pleasure for me because I am a military brat, and I was particularly fascinated with Beth and the story of the University’s activities with the military. Military personnel put a lot of rigor around the education they received, so living on military bases growing up that was particularly important. And quite frankly it was a guidepost for me as I educated myself, and as an engineer at a time when there were not a lot of women.”
Sitherwood’s talk touched on the history of the energy industry, where it’s heading, political issues, and what kind of technological breakthroughs the industry is experiencing today. Watch a video of the talk below.
