Where did human rights come from?

That’s the topic Monday, Nov. 5 at noon in the Library Conference Room for visiting speaker Samuel Moyn.

Currently a history professor at Columbia University and visiting law professor at Harvard University, Moyn is the author of The Last Utopia: Human Rights in History. He is one of the leading intellectual historians of his generation and is also a frequent contributor to The Nation.

The talk is sponsored by Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies; the History, Politics, and International Relations department; and the Webster University Speakers Committee.
