Celebrate the University Center’s 20th Anniversary Sept. 26

| August 31, 2012

For 20 years, the University Center has been a place where students, faculty, guest speakers and visiting athletes meet.

The Webster University Center will celebrate its 20th anniversary Wednesday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., to coincide with the week of Homecoming. The University Center opened to the Webster campus in the fall of 1992, with its grand opening taking place in September of that year.

The celebration will feature an outdoor party on the Quad with inflatable games, ca. 1992 music provided by The Galaxy campus radio, roving artists, inflatable games, a dunking booth, commemorative giveaways and, of course, cake and ice cream.

Staff members in the University Center will wear “throwback” shirts, and the event will include the first formal use of the new sand volleyball court. Additionally that week, photographs and stories featuring the University Center over the last 20 years will be on display. The displays will remain up through Homecoming weekend.

Suggestions for members of the campus community to participate in the dunking booth are welcome, as are historical photos, stories and other commemorative items from the University Center’s 20-year history.

We look forward to having the entire Webster community celebrate with us.
