Chess Accolades: Webster Students Win U.S. Open; Polgar Named a Top Trainer in the World

Webster University Chess Team members continue to impress.

This week at the USCF U.S. Open Championship in Vancouver, Wash., Webster sophomores Grandmaster Andre Diamant of Brazil and International Master Vitaly Neimer of Israel won the U.S. Open g/15 championship.

They tied with each other and share the national title.

Separately, Webster chess coach and SPICE founder Susan Polgar was nominated by the FIDE Trainers’ Commission as one of the best trainers (chess coach) in the world [PDF].
