Snapshot: TAP Helps Incoming Students Transition to Webster

President Beth Stroble welcomed incoming students at the beginning of the TAP program, an intensive Academic Resource Center initiative that helps them prepare for the transition to Webster University and connects them with helpful resources and opportunities around campus.
This past week the Webster University Academic Resource Center hosted the Transitions Academic Prep (TAP) Program in the East Academic Building on the home campus.
TAP is a weeklong part of the summer Transitions program, a non-credit academic success program designed to assist new and transfer students in their transition to Webster University. The Transitions program prepares each student for the academic rigor of Webster University and provides students with an overall knowledge of the resources available to them.
This past week, about 20 incoming students in the Transitions program experienced an intense introduction to campus life. The program included two academic seminars focused on critical reading and writing, as well as small-group collaborative learning sessions covering a variety of study skills and active learning strategies.
The TAP week also involved social activities to help students establish relationships with others in the program.
