A free workshop, “Sustainability in the Curriculum and the Classroom” is offered Monday, Aug. 6, and Monday, Aug. 13, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in the Lovejoy Library third floor conference room.
Modeled after the Ponderosa Project at Northern Arizona University and the Piedmont Project at Emory University, this all-day workshop for area university faculty will explore how we can meaningfully integrate sustainability—broadly defined—into our classrooms.
If you are interested in participating, submit a one-page description of how you plan to change an old course, develop a new course, or add a new module to Connie Frey Spurlock at email@example.com prior to the workshop and register for the free workshop online at: www.siue.edu/innovation/teaching/sustainability. The workshop includes lunch and a copy of Ecological Literacy by David Orr.
Facilitators are Connie Frey Spurlock and Kevin Adkins.
