Teach Out of Programs at Elgin Campus Location

| July 16, 2012

One of Webster University’s competitive advantages is its ability to quickly adjust to changes in its environment. The University prides itself on being responsive to the students and communities it serves, striving to meet their unmet needs with high-quality academic offerings. As part of maintaining this standard, sometimes tough choices must be made in order to serve the University and its students as a whole.

To this end, Webster has decided to “teach out” the academic programs offered at the Elgin campus location near Chicago, Ill. Current programs will continue to be offered on site at Elgin through Summer 2013, but the University will no longer enroll new students at this campus location.

Thankfully, the Webster network is large and provides many high-quality options for students to complete their degrees. Current Elgin students will have through Summer 2013 to take classes at Elgin and will be able to take courses online, if necessary, to finish their degrees.

Webster continues to operate in the Chicago area at Great Lakes Naval Station and is actively exploring other opportunities in this metropolitan area. Elgin employees will have the opportunity to apply for other positions within the University.

Webster University cares deeply about its students and its employees, and will continue to make decisions that support long-term sustainability for the University, its students and the communities it serves.
