The Webster U. contingent rounds the corner of Gore and Lockwood — the inspiration for the Gorlock mascot.

In celebrating the U.S. Independence Day, July 4, Webster University’s home campus in St. Louis was proud to participate in two events that are hallmarks of this holiday in the St. Louis community – the Webster Groves Fourth of July Parade and the downtown Fair St. Louis events.

In Webster Groves, the NCAA Division III men’s baseball team represented Webster University by appearing in the parade along with other Webster representatives. Their appearance was in celebration of their historic first World Series appearance and ranking as 5th in the nation in their category.

As a major sponsor of this year’s Fair St. Louis, held on the grounds of the Gateway Arch, Webster is also a proud participant in the Fair’s “Salute to the Troops” event Friday, July 6.

Webster will express our thanks and gratitude to those who serve and recognize our brave service members as we introduce Brig. Gen. Mike Callan, USAF (Ret.), Associate Vice President for Military and Governmental Programs, to an expected audience of 150,000.
