Regional champion Gorloks are headed to the World Series.

Post-season accolades continue to pile up for the Webster University baseball team, who will be welcomed back to campus today after their trip to the World Series in Appleton, Wis.

The Rawlings Company and the American Baseball Coaches Association have named senior David Mueller 2012 Central Regional Pitcher of the Year and head coach Bill Kurich the 2012 Central Region Coach of the Year.

Mueller, 8-2 with a 1.91 ERA, was also a Central Region First Team selection. Junior outfielder Cody Stevenson (Centralia HS, Ill.), junior pitcher Cody Hafeli (Kankakee CC, Ill.), senior first-baseman Tom Henke (Lindbergh HS), and junior outfielder Alex Kazmierski (Triton College, Ill.) were all Central Region Second Team selections.

These players will now receive consideration for the Rawlings/ABCA 2012 All-American Team. This was Mueller’s third time making the team, he was a Second Team selection in 2010 and Third Team Selection in 2011.

Henke, Kazmierski, and Mueller were also named to the D3baseball.com 2012 All-Central Region Second Team.

Earlier this month, HenkeĀ  was voted the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 2012 Player of the Year and Mueller was voted the SLIAC 2012 Pitcher of the Year. Freshman Isaac Behme (Harrisburg HS, Ill.) was named the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year, while Kurich took home his fourth SLIAC Coach of the Year award.

Congratulations to the baseball Gorloks on a historic year!
