Baseball Champs at Gorlok Open

Coach Bill Kurich introduces members of the World Series-bound baseball team at the Gorlok Open.

The annual Gorlok Open went off without a hitch Monday, May 21, on a beautiful day in St. Louis. Look for more photos and details from this annual golf outing in a later post, but for now here’s a shot of a cameo at the Open — by members of the the NCAA regional champion Webster University baseball team, who received warm congratulations from Open attendees.

The baseball Gorloks will be headed to Appleton, Wis., for the D-III World Series this coming weekend. They leave campus Wednesday morning, May 23, and play their first World Series game Friday morning at 10 a.m. EDT against Wheaton College (Mass.).

They are the first team in Webster’s history to make the World Series.
