Webster Hall Elevator Construction; Bike Rack Impact

| May 2, 2012

Rendering of forthcoming Webster Hall elevator

Webster University is partnering with Tao & Lee Associates, Lewisites Landscape Architecture and BSI Constructors to add a new elevator to the back of Webster Hall. This will provide wheelchair access to all levels of Webster Hall and will replace the original elevator.

The southeast Webster Hall Courtyard and corner entrance door will be blocked during the construction.

Work is scheduled to start May 15 and should be complete in mid-October 2012.

In addition to the new elevator the southeastern courtyard of Webster Hall will be landscaped to provide an improved outdoor gathering space.

Areas Affected during Construction

These areas will be affected by the construction and landscaping:

  • The southeast Webster Hall Courtyard and corner entrance door will be blocked during the construction.
  • Access from the back of Moore Hall and parking lot D to the Loretto-Webster courtyard will be through the ground floor of Maria Hall.
  • Throughout the construction, building users will be warned about any temporary inconveniences, particularly noisy operations, or temporary reconfiguration of building access.
  • If you have a bicycle in the bicycle rack behind the eastern courtyard of Webster Hall, please remove your bicycle by May 12, 2012 so the rack can be moved.
