Wellness: Mile-By-Mile Marathon is a Success

Congratulations to all who participated in the 2012 Webster University Go! St. Louis Mile-by-Mile Marathon sponsored by WSA and Webster Wellness.

Participating in the walk were 148 faculty, staff and students with 111 achieving the full marathon length (26.2 miles) during March 1-April 12. Overall, the group walked 5,478 miles, which is an average of 37 miles per participant during the six weeks.

Those who achieved the goal received a certificate of achievement, a t-shirt and a blue and gold “Finisher” medal with the GO! St. Louis logo on one side and Webster University’s logo on the other side. Everyone who participated was invited to a celebration ceremony held Friday, April 20.

Extra kudos to Katherine Krajcovic (150.8 miles), Marcie Shumert (146 miles) and Tamara Gegg-LaPlume (140.75 miles) as our top three walkers. Congratulations to everyone who made an extra effort to take another step towards pursuing wellness in their lives.
