Snapshots: Campus Activities Breaks World Record for Longest Ice Cream Sundae

The World's Longest Sundae

Students, faculty and staff gathered in the Quad on April 11 to construct the longest ice cream sundae on record as documented by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Their sundae, officially measuring in at 200.3 feet., beat the previous record by more than 45 feet.

This event was sponsored by Campus Activities as part of SpringFest 2012.

SpringFest 2012 continues through Saturday, April 14 with several exciting events:

“Naked Dating” with Harlan Cohen
Thursday, April 12 – 7 p.m. in the Moore Auditorium

Student vs. Faculty/Staff Softball Game
Friday, April 13 – 7:30 p.m. at Blackburn Park

Saturday, April 14 – 7 p.m. in Grant Gymnasium

    Was all that ice cream consumed or left to melt away? If so, wish I would have known! Seems like a obscene waste of resources if not. We seem to waste a lot of food at Webster…an unsustainable and ethical issue that needs to be addressed.

      I’m not sure whether hungry mouths were found for all of the record-breaking ice cream, but I do know Sodexo is constantly working toward better sustainability practices — and in fact held an all-day regional sustainability seminar on campus earlier this month. Also, the Webster University Sustainability Coalition is helping align and promote sustainability efforts among students and employees so that we can maximize our efforts.

      (In fact, the Coalition is holding the University’s first annual sustainability conference, an academic conference, on Monday, April 16. Attendance is free for faculty, students and staff.)
