Dependent Verification Packets for Employees

This week, 458 full-time U.S. employees with dependents enrolled in Webster’s group medical, dental and vision coverage will be mailed a packet asking them to provide proof of eligibility for their enrolled dependents. This dependent verification process will help Webster University better manage health care costs and ensure compliance with group plan rules.

Similar efforts by other organizations have resulted in significant healthcare cost savings.

Webster’s Human Resources Office has enlisted the help of AON Hewitt, Webster’s health care broker and a leading benefits administrator, to assist employees in gathering and processing this verification information. Employees will be asked to provide copies of government-issued legal documents such as a marriage, birth or adoption certificate or domestic partner affidavit.

The entire process of verifying dependent status for 938 total dependents will be concluded by May 11. Verifying dependents for healthcare coverage will become a part of the University’s healthcare plan registration process going forward.

How to Verify: Watch for Packet from AON Hewitt in the Mail

The mailed packet from AON Hewitt will contain all the information affected employees will need in order to quickly navigate through the process. All questions concerning the process, incorrectly listed dependents or a “Change of Status” during this verification process should be directed to AON Hewitt’s Dependent Verification Center, by calling 1-800-725-5810 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
