Nov. 10: CIS Brown Bag Event with Alejandra Juarez

The Center for International Studies presents a Brown Bag Lunch event with Alejandra Juarez of the Emergency Labor Network, speaking about her experiences growing up in an immigrant Mexican-American farm worker family in California’s Central Valley.

Juarez has recently been engaged with the students and teachers on the West Coast against education cuts, labor and immigrant rights struggle, and participating in the Occupy Sacramento, Merced, and Oakland actions. This event is co-sponsored by the Multicultural Studies Committee, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies.
