Martin Van Creveld speaks at Webster Geneva

The author and military and social historian Martin Van Creveld delivers a guest lecture at Webster University’s Geneva campus Thursday, Oct. 20.

Van Creveld is one of the best known and respected writers of strategic affairs. A social historian, he has revolutionized military history in the 1980s. He has addressed the evolution of leadership and logistics at war. He is also well known for his thesis on the decline of the nation states. Controversial in his stance of the defense of Israel, he has also taken a strong position against the Global War on Terror.

Van Creveld will discuss the “Defense Industry and the Influence of the West” for roughly 20-30 minutes, followed by time for open discussion.
