Webster University London students who volunteered at the Jimmy Carter event also caught a shot with famous musician Peter Gabriel.

On Wednesday, Oct 5, 2011, Webster University-London professor and Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies Fellow Yossi Mekelberg took 30 students to the event featuring a conversation with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

The event featured a lengthy interview by Jon Snow about Carter’s presidency, his Carter Center charity and contemporary issues such as human rights. It was followed by questions from audience members, ranging from the the Middle East to trade in China.

Fifteen of the Webster students volunteered to work the event and received a special bonus: A picture (above) with famous musician Peter Gabriel, who was kind enough to sing Happy Birthday to the former president.

In addition to teaching for Webster, Mekelberg is a well-regarded analyst for Chatham House whose expertise on Middle Eastern affairs is frequently sought by European news media.
