U.S. casting director Lana Veenker made a guest appearance during the Video Production class at Webster University’s campus in Vienna Wednesday, Sept. 28.
She shared tips for aspiring filmmakers on casting their own projects. The following day she held a three-hour public workshop to teach audition techniques to actors in English.
Veenker has worked on hundreds of projects, including the blockbuster film “Twilight,” Gus Van Sant’s “Paranoid Park,” and more than 40 episodes of the hit TV series, “Leverage,” starring Timothy Hutton.
She has worked with directors such as Robert Benton, Dean Devlin, and Tim Robbins, and on films starring Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Aniston, Harrison Ford, Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron and many others. Her company recently completed casting on the new Heitor Dhalia feature “Gone” starring Amanda Seyfried.
