Global Lens Film Series: ‘Soul of Sand (Pairon Talle)’

Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. the Webster University Film Series presents Soul of Sand (Pairon Talle), a 2009 Indian film about a watchman drawn into a bizarre triangle in the Indian countryside.

From director Sidharth Srinivasan, in Hindi with English subtitles.

The film is part of the Global Lens series running Tuesdays from May to July.

A watchman at an abandoned mine is drawn into a bizarre triangle after a wealthy landlord’s daughter and her lower-caste lover seek refuge from a masked killer wreaking havoc across the Indian countryside.

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for seniors, students from other schools and Webster alumni, and $4 for Webster University staff and faculty unless otherwise noted. All films screened in Moore Auditorium on the campus of Webster University, 470 E. Lockwood, Webster Groves, Mo., unless noted.

The Webster University Film Series receives funding from the Missouri Arts Council – a state agency, the Regional Arts Commission, and the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis.
