All Steinway Recognition Event April 27

From Jeffrey Carter, chair, Department of Music:

Ron Losby, president of Steinway & Sons in New York City, formally presented Webster University the All-Steinway School designation on Wednesday, April 27, at an event in the Winifred Moore Auditorium. Losby spoke of Steinway’s enduring commitment to making the best piano possible, and to making those pianos available to students at Webster University and 122 other All-Steinway Schools around the world.

Daniel Schene, director of keyboard studies, played music of Debussy, Liszt and Rachmaninoff to officially inaugurate the University’s flagship Steinway model-D piano (a nine-foot instrument). President Beth Stroble reminded the audience that the All-Steinway School designation is one more sign of Webster’s commitment to excellence in arts performance and education.
