The William T. Kemper Award for Excellence in Teaching was established in 1991 to recognize full-time and part-time faculty members, who, in the opinion of their peers, exhibit the art of teaching at its finest. The university designates four William T. Kemper Awards for Excellence in Teaching annually. These awards are the most prestigious faculty awards at the university and include a significant professional development stipend. Since 1991, 74 faculty members have been recognized for their teaching excellence.

During the discussion, panel members will provide brief statements about themselves and their teaching background as well as contribute to a moderated discussion on important topics in teaching and learning today. This year’s William T. Kemper Award Winners Panel will be moderated by 1996 award winner Monica Moore.
