2011 Benefits Open Enrollment Info

| November 12, 2010

Benefits Announcements and Reminders from Human Resources:

We hope you will plan to attend our annual Benefits Open Enrollment Fair Tuesday, Nov. 16, on the Home campus from Noon to 3:30 p.m. in the Sunnen Lounge. Vendor representatives from United Healthcare, Delta Dental, Vision Service Plan, Hartford, Unum, Beneflex, Griffin Protection Group and Commerce Bank along with Human Resources will be on hand for your questions. Come learn more about your benefit options, get questions answered and explore what’s available online regarding your plans and wellness. There will be some giveaways so plan to attend if you are able!

Announcing a new resource to our benefit eligible employees:

The Human Resources department now has benefit forms, summaries, summary plan documents and other helpful information posted on the HR Channel on Connections.  This information is available to you while at work or even at home. You will want to go here to secure the correct forms to complete if you want to make changes in your current benefit elections, to find information about a benefit that you are considering or to understand more about benefits that you have.

If you are a staff member, the information is available by selecting the “Staff” tab on your Connections site. If you are a faculty member, information was sent to your email last week on how to add the HR channel to “My Connections.” You are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this new resource!

Also, as a reminder, Benefits Open Enrollment for 2011 benefits elections began Monday, Nov. 8, and will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 24. This year’s enrollment is considered a passive enrollment so no response is necessary if you want all of your benefit elections to stay the same in 2011, with ONE exception — the Flexible Spending Account requires an annual enrollment. Remember, this is the only time of year you can change your benefit election unless you have a qualifying event (e.g. marriage, new child, etc.). Note: Qualifying events do not apply to Prepaid Legal Services or Identity Protection.
