Oct. 29 Workshop: Web Enhancement with WorldClassRoom

| October 21, 2010

This advanced WorldClassRoom workshop from the Faculty Development Center is for faculty who are currently using WCR and would like to enhance or increase the amount of tools currently used.

Date: 4 – 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29
Emerson Library, eClassroom Room 110

The decision to use more WCR tools is based on a desire to move traditional teaching and learning activities online to further enhance learning for students, to decrease the amount of class time used for assessment activities, and to increase the amount of in-class interaction and focus on content.

Some of the tools covered in the Advanced WCR workshop include:

  • managing and customizing the Course
  • using the File Manager
  • adding complex HTML and RSS Feed Content links
  • communicating via Chat
  • usage of the Media Library
  • sharing goals

Some assessment tools include creating Learning Modules, creating complex quizzes and exams, and using the assessment manager, the assignment dropbox, and grading forms.

WorldClassRoom is a virtual classroom that both enhances learning for students in an online atmosphere and increases time for engagement and discussion during real class time.
